• Negotiating and corresponding with estate agent
• Co-ordinating of valuation and survey if required
• Making an offer, subject to contract, on your behalf
• Inspecting pre-purchase agreement (compromise de vente)
• Examining and reporting about terms of contract over the telephone, or emailing you a report on main points having implications for you
• Drafting any necessary protective clauses and arranging for these to be included in contract
• Checking that pre-emption rights are waived
• Obtaining copies of planning documents and highlighting potential issues
• Advising on best options of ownership and ensuring that the necessary clauses are inserted in the final conveyance Deeds
• Liaising with notaire, appointing own notaire as necessary
• Arranging power of attorney
• Examining and approving the final conveyance deed and co-ordinating the completion process
• Advising on how to minimise French succession law and inheritance tax
